FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
“The responsible person must make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to which relevant persons are exposed for the purpose of identifying the general fire precautions he needs to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed on him by or under this Order. Any such assessment must be reviewed by the responsible person regularly so as to keep it up to date”
The responsibility for complying with the order rests with you, the responsible person, and will be enforced by the Local Authority Fire and Rescue Service The enforcing authority will have the power to inspect your premises and will expect to see a copy of the assessment.
WHAT IS A FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT?
A Fire Risk Assessment is a methodical and organised look at your premises and what activities are conducted. What could potentially start a fire and who might be harmed.

-
Identify fire hazards – Sources of ignition, fuel and oxygen.
-
Identify people at risk – People in and around the premises
-
Evaluate, remove, reduce and protect from risk – Fire alarms, Firefighting, Escape routes, lighting, Signs and Maintenance.
-
Record, plan, inform, instruct and train – Record findings and action taken, Inform, instruct and provide training.
-
Review – Keep under review and revise if necessary.
Fireshield can assist your compliance to this requirement in thoroughly examining the potential risk and spread of fire, and advising on removing, reducing and protecting from risk
