Fire Risk Assessment
The responsible person must make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to which relevant persons are exposed for the purpose of identifying the general fire precautions they need to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed on him by or under this Order. Any such assessment must be reviewed by the responsible person regularly so as to keep it up to date.
Fire Alarm Systems
The responsible person must ensure that the premises are equipped with appropriate fire detectors and alarms in order to safeguard the safety of relevant persons. They must also ensure that any equipment and devices provided are subject to a suitable system of maintenance.
Emergency Lighting Systems
The responsible person must in order to safeguard the safety of relevant persons ensure that emergency routes and exits be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in the case of failure of their normal lighting. And must ensure that any equipment and devices provided are subject to a suitable system of maintenance.
Fire Safety Training
The responsible person must ensure that employees are provided with adequate fire safety training: this must include suitable and sufficient instruction on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by the employee in order to safeguard themselves and other relevant persons on the premises and be repeated periodically where appropriate.
